Mind Body Wellness Counseling

My name is Amanda Marconi, I am a licensed clinical social worker living in Colorado since 2014.

I grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut and moved to Boston in 2003 to attend Northeastern University, receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology in 2008. In 2012 I graduated from Boston University - Wheelock College with a Masters Degree in Social Work. While completing my masters program, I worked as a clinical therapist and advocate at a trauma center outside the Boston area, focusing on mental health and domestic violence.

From 2009 to 2014 I worked at Step By Step Supportive Services, a residential program for adults who experience with major mental illness and developmental disabilities. Here, I provided services to assist individuals in learning skills to live independently in the community, case management, and therapy. In 2012 I became the Director of Outreach Services and had the opportunity to run the program for two years.

In 2014 I moved to Colorado.  Here, I began working as an outpatient adult therapist at the Mental Health Center of Denver, providing individual therapy to adults struggling with major mental illness and addiction. I left the Mental Health Center in 2017 and began working for The Medical Center of Aurora as a crisis assessment clinician, providing psychiatric evaluations in HealthOne emergency departments.

In 2016 I started my private practice, Mind Body Wellness Counseling. I specialize in Trauma recovery, as well as working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders. I have been clinically trained in treatment modalities such as EMDR, CBT, DBT and KAP. I typically use a mind body approach treatment and tend to be solution focused, helping individuals meet their goals.  Therapy is a wonderful and powerful journey, and I enjoy being on the ride with my clients.
